While Season 3 is in hiatus, we continue the special Alternate Universe Updates.
When I came up with the idea of doing this alternate edition of Midtoon, one of the first things my family asked about was whether the male version of Mabel (Called Maxwell here) would still be many years younger than the female version of John (Joan). Of course I said yes, and they thought about various situations that happen ater and decided that they range from hilarious to creepy.
I think it is interesting that while no one ever asked about Mabel and he role as a younger stay-home step mother, thinking of Maxwell as a stay-home younger step-father immediately raised questions, Why doesn;t he have a job? Why did he marry an older woman? How is his father-daughter dynamic with Erika, who is only a few years younger? And then, they started thinking about other characters that have not been introduced here yet and realized it gets even creepier. So, what do you think?

NOTE: I will be on business travel to Portland all next week, so no episode will be posted December 10. The next opportunity, if we manage to complete it on time, will be December 15. After that I may do something special for Christmas / New Year, and even though I can't promise it, I really want to do it, so I have my fingers crossed.
